Workshops
At Lekha, we believe in nurturing writing as a way of remembering, recording, and reclaiming — especially among communities that have been less written about or written by. Our workshops create space for both emerging and established writers to grow their craft, reflect on their practice, and connect with like-minded storytellers. Whether you're just starting out or deep in the work, these sessions are a place to think, write, and build together.
From Feeling to Form: Shaping Personal Experience into Moving Essays with Lekey Leidecker
This workshop explores how a personal experience — a feeling, a memory, a question — becomes an essay. Led by Tibetan writer, Lekey Leidecker, whose work delves into grief, identity, and belonging, the session offers an intimate look into the emotional and creative process of essay writing. Together, we’ll read one of her published essays and unpack the journey of how it came to be — not just in terms of structure or style, but the deeper work of translating lived experience into something shaped and shareable. If you’ve ever sat with something you want to write but haven’t known how to begin, this space is for you.
